Walking with W (2015–2026) is a long-term collaborative photographic project that began after I relocated from London to rural Somerset in 2015 and became a mother. Conceived as a weekly photo walk with my son, the project grew from our shared experience of exploring the surrounding landscape on foot. Rather than simply documenting childhood, the photographs record a collaborative way of seeing, with my son becoming both participant and co-creator. I occasionally appear within the images through reflections, shadows or fleeting traces, acknowledging my own presence behind the camera and within our shared experience. Returning to familiar paths week after week, the project reflects on family, place, memory and the passage of time, revealing how walking and photography can become intertwined acts of observation, connection and belonging.
