Woolaway Reminiscence Project

A one year reminiscence project with Somerset Art Works. Council-built, structurally defective Woolaway houses were being demolished and rebuilt by Somerset West and Taunton Council on an estate in North Taunton. During this time of change and upheaval, I was invited by SAW and the council team to meet with residents and their families, to listen to, record and archive memories of life in the Woolaway houses.

The final output of the project celebrates personal stories and shared social history, ideas evolved in collaboration with residents. The final two large-scale artworks will be incorporated into new community spaces, to link back to what was there before.
